Dovey is a couples conversation game. This policy explains exactly what the app stores and why. The short version: no account, no email, no ads, no tracking, and we never sell data.
When you use Dovey, our server stores: a randomly generated device identifier (created on your phone — we never see your Apple ID, phone number, or email), the first name you enter, your couple archetype from the intro quiz, the text answers you choose to save, and your couple's shared streak. This is the minimum needed to sync the game between you and your partner.
Voice notes recorded with the microphone are stored only on your device and are never uploaded. Your saved memories timeline lives on your phone.
To write your daily "For You" deck, themes from your couple's recent answers are processed by Google's Gemini API. Answers are used only to generate questions, are never quoted back verbatim, and are not used to train models under the API terms we use. If you never pair or answer, nothing is sent.
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We receive a signed confirmation that a purchase happened — never your name or payment details.
Your answers are visible to exactly one person: the partner you paired with. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else. Infrastructure is provided by Cloudflare (data stored in their D1 database).
Email abhinay@approtic.in from either partner and we will delete your couple's data — identifiers, answers, and AI cards — within 30 days. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device.
Dovey is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes and the app will point to the updated page.
